The Association of Residential Lettings Agents
ARLA
has 1,500 member offices throughout the UK including large
multi-branch national companies as well as the smaller single
office practices. Membership is achieved only by agents who
demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of their
profession and that they conduct their business according to
current best management practice.
ARLA members are governed by the Code of Practice providing a
framework of ethical and professional standards at a level far
higher than the law demands. The Association runs a series of
meetings, training courses and seminars at local and national
levels to ensure that members are kept fully up to date with the
latest best practice. Examinations are held regularly and
membership rules require all member offices to have
professionally qualified staff by the year 2000. Members'
accounts are required to be audited annually ensuring that they
conform to stringent accounting practice.
National Association of Estate Agents
NAEA members not only offer reassurance to
the property buying and selling public but also to those
choosing to let or rent a property. By instructing an NAEA agent
who specialises in lettings and management, landlords and
tenants will be assured of defined standards of customer
service, experience and professionalism. All principals,
partners or directors have professional indemnity insurance and
will hold client monies in a separate account protected by a
Clients' Money Protection scheme.
The United Kingdom Association of Residential Lettings
Agents
UKALA is the professional association for the lettings industry, promoting high standards and protecting the interests of agents, landlords and tenants. UKALA is a non-profit organisation registered with the government department responsible for housing.
UKALA members have a code of
practice providing a framework of ethical and professional
standards at a level far higher than the law demands. In order to comply with
UKALA's membership requirements, Christies have been formally
interviewed to confirm that we meet the
stringent code of conduct, hold separate client accounts that are professionally managed and audited,
hold professional indemnity insurance and offer a full
letting, rent collection and management service to Landlords. |
